Farm Table Inn is located in the Cowichan Valley just minutes from Skutz falls. They have a two room bed and breakfast on site as well as a restaurant and just recently opened their farm store so that you can take some of your favorites home with you. Their gorgeous farm was started from scratch 5 years ago when Evelyn Koops and George Gates fell in love with the plot of land.

They currently raise their own chickens which can be found roaming the property, ducks, pigs and sheep. Their animals get a wide variety in their diet as they are part of the food recovery program which provides farmers with food that would otherwise be discarded because of imperfections for their animals twice a week as well as Top Shelf Feeds grains. They are hoping to add a few meat birds into their flock in the future as well as try their hand at raising bees. Their garden is meticulous and thoughtfully planned out. They grow a huge range of vegetables and fruits and is one of their favorite hangout spots. They use tall raised beds for no bend picking with built in irrigation for all of the their leafy greenery, a large green house and tiered garden beds. A two year compost program is currently used with fresh soil for their no till farming practice so that every year they are putting nutrients back into their soil to decrease the amount of soil erosion.

Evelyn loves the bed and breakfast side of the business which is evident in all the small details around the property and George is a Red Seal Chef who creates the delicious meals served in the restaurant. In the future they are hoping to add in a longer term vacation rental in the cottage at the back side of the property. On the days they get to sit back and enjoy the property they can be found on the patio enjoying a glass of wine. Stop by the farm store, enjoy an evening leisurely dining experience or stay at the bed and breakfast and you won’t be disappointed!
